Nothing exciting here but I can never ever remember the route we take from Europe to Asia or vice versa. So geeky me, has decided to blog it. Someone may find it interesting.

Our route this evening Is taking us:

  • Singapore.

  • Over Kuala Lumpur and heading northish over Malaysia.

  • Through some bumps.

  • Heading towards India along the western coast of Thailand.

  • Seat belt sign now off.

  • Currently 33936ft @ 939kmph (-37c outside).

  • Heading directly for the Adaman(?) Islands.

  • Breaking away now from the Thai coast to cross the bay. Abeam Nakhon Si Thammara.

  • Looks like we will cross the Indian coast just by Calcutta to the South heading in a straight line towards Delhi (time remaing 8h06).

  • We have actually turned slightly west (south but abeam Kanpur) towards Multan in Pakistan (35941ft – 785kmph).

  • Directly south of Delhi heading direct for Lahore.

  • In Pakistan just south of Multan. Must have turned slightly left at some point.

  • Heading in a direction that will track us half way between Kandahar and Kabul.

  • Afghanstin heading towards Turkminstan heading towards Ashkhabad.

  • Heading overhead Ashkhabad now on route to Baku directly over the middle’ish of the Caspian sea.

  • 3h49 to run and directly over head Tbilisi (Georgia).

  • Heading directly for the black sea now.

  • Daylight outside and some absolutely amazing snowcapped mountains.

  • Half way across the black sea, pretty much in the middle (abeam Sevastopol). 2 hours 44 minutes to go. ETA 08h06, hopefully it’s not much later as a have a flight to get and no boarding card as yet.

  • Almost over land again, heading into Romania, right on the border of Ukraine.

  • Guessing we will over fly Brasov and then Hungary (Budapest).

  • Through Austria (Vienna).

  • Into Germany (Munich).

  • Then finally on the ground in Zurich.

  • All in all, not a bad flight. The drugs were good and very much helped

Flight time is approximately 12h45. That’s about 12 hours too long.

***Last Snippet***

If I get a chance at some point in time I will map the route. Shouldn’t take me too long.

Awesome just found a movie I actually want to watch (Up In The Air). Should pass the next couple of hours as I am wide awake now.

To just top off geekiness, I have taken photos (ableit quality could be dodgy) of the flight tracker which I will post when I get home.

Completely off topic… So looking forward to my Mad Miff (chicken, pine nuts, peppers and red onions with a scattered of tortilla chips on top) pizza tonight and maybe a few diet cokes. Greg’s making it for me  He makes the best pizzas ever.

Well, that’s me on final decent into Zurich. Overall, a pleasant flight. Wouldn’t say enjoyable though. Now just have to make my connection. Eck!
