What a week, I'm Shattered!

Disturbing Image Alert! Verity’s ear on Friday.

WARNNG WARNING WARNING… GROSS IMAGE ALERT!

The last week has been tiring, very tiring. In comparison to other people’s weeks, it’s probably been a breeze but everyone is allowed to moan sometime :) To is my day as I’m knackered. Lol.

About 10 days ago Verity complained about a ‘ticklish’ ear, we didn’t think much of it but she complained again on Thursday and again on Friday. On Friday we had a really good look and what we sore was gross (I’m happy to share the grossness, see photo).

So Saturday morning at 0730 we headed to the emergency pediatrician. By this stage, there was quite a bit of yellow gunk coming out of her ear which was all through her hair and over her bed, she was also complaining it was sore. The pediatrician did a swab, put her on a strong course of antibiotics and told us to come back tomorrow.

Sunday came and we headed back to the doctors for a ‘control’. Unfortunately, the ear was worse and we were still waiting on lab results. There was lots of debate about taking her to hospital but are calling the hospital it was decided that until the lab results came back there was no more they could do unless she had a fever and went downhill.

On Monday morning we headed to the doctors again (at the request of the doctor) and the lab results had come back. It was some sort of weird bacteria in the bone behind the ear which needed specific antibiotics as anything in the penicillin family wouldn’t work. So off we headed to the Kinder Hospital. Six hours later we come home we more antibiotics and was told to keep an eye on her.

Thankfully between the original antibiotics and the new antibiotics by the weekend she had returned to normal.

Then, of course, it was a tag team. Delilah started coughing and couldn’t walk from one side of the house to the other without a cough attack. So on Friday, Greg took her to our usual pediatrician and go figure she had bad bronchitis. Greg walked away with multiple puffers, steroids and an appointment at the Kinder Hospital *screams*.

We won’t even talk about my two doctor appointments!

So that is my moan. It was a full-on week, nothing disastrous but tiring. I hope your week ahead is awesome!
