Christmas Week & New Year

It’s been a good and bad few weeks. Busy, quiet and sad. All rolled in to one.

December and especially the end of December was always going to be crazy for us. How busy, we didn’t really know. With 200-250 guests arriving in resort over Christmas and New Year it had to be busy.

Christmas was good. Brent, Deb, Todd, Alex, Sam, Emma, Jason, Katrina and Fiona were all here. We spent the morning skiing and the evening eating, was in bed by 22h00. Was exceptionally tired. I think they all had a good time. I certainly did and it was great spending it with family which I haven’t had the opportunity to do in many years. They all are really lovely people.

The “Fopp & Friends” gang left St Jean d’Aulps and Seytroux over the past few days, definately leaving an impression on the area. Christmas carols at Bar National seem to have received the most feedback from fellow Brits in the area. I wasnt actually there at the time but I can only imagine the volume at which carols were apparently sang at.

2008 is a year that I am pleased is over. Nanna’s heartattack, Greg’s Grannys cancer, loosing Grandma (only a couple of weeks ago) and loosing Boydie. It was a horrid year that I really want to leave behind.

Aoife is a little treasure, absolutely adorable. Rupert is as well, just in a different way.

I think both Greg and myself are pleased it’s now 2009. We are going to start the new year skiing down the slopes at Avoriaz.
